Calabrian Podolian breed

The Podolica cattle breed is a breed of very ancient origins that is raised in the southern Apennines from Campania to Puglia, up to the hills of Calabria.

The characteristic of the Podolica breed is that it can only be raised outdoors. It is a breed that in the past was used as a working animal and only secondarily considered for its production of meat and milk.

Thanks to open pastures it produces very high quality milk; its meat is tasty, rich in vitamins and mineral salts.
